Hundreds campaign for beloved Celebrations chocolate to be brought back after 13 years
Chocolate lovers are calling for the return of a beloved festive treat to .
'Tis the season that many are discussing their favourite chocolates – from selection tubs like to the classic Terry's Chocolate Orange.
But one product is getting talked about more than most – Celebrations. The debate over which chocolate in the box is the best continues, with many insisting that Galaxy Truffles were the top choice before they got axed.
Unfortunately, this dreamy treat, featuring a velvety chocolate centre encased in a hard shell, was discontinued by Mars Inc in 2011. The treats were part of the original Celebrations tub, launched in 1997, until they were replaced with Twix. But a post went viral on social media recently with many still hoping that Galaxy Truffles will make a comeback.

This comes after popular food page UK Newest Foods shared an image of the much-loved chocolate and stated: "As we enter this festive period, we must never forget those who we lost along the way."
The post continued: "The Galaxy Truffle was the absolute BEST of the Celebrations! Gone but never forgotten." The post sparked more than 1,200 comments, with chocolate enthusiasts demanding the Galaxy Truffle be given another chance. One person commented: "I miss these, they were soooo good, we need them back."
Another asked: "Why would they get rid of something that so many people enjoyed? " "These were so good," added another.
Fans are clamouring for the return of a beloved chocolate treat, with one fervent supporter tweeting: "@galaxyuk BRING THEM BACK." Nostalgia was in the air – as another fan shared: "These were my favourite."
Galaxy Truffles' absence has not gone unnoticed – as a campaign was started in 2018 to bring them back. Sean Duggan, the man behind the petition, aimed to rally the support of 10,000 people.
In his passionate plea, Sean wrote: "Let's get the Truffle back and let the company know that we don't want something that was so popular to be replaced with something so mediocre. Let us show not only the heartbreak of something so delicious being taken away, but to show that this should never happen again!"
Despite his efforts, by 2024, the campaign had mustered just over 1,500 signatures. Mars did reintroduce Galaxy Truffles in 2019, selling them exclusively at in their own box priced at £5.
However, some aficionados argue they're not quite the same, and it seems unlikely that the truffles will make a comeback in our Celebrations boxes any time soon.
